Professional and Compassionate Support for Vulnerable Students

Alex was the Inclusion Team’s point of contact for home tuition requests for PEX pupils who were unable to access a provision. I was fortunate enough to work closely with Alex for over 2 years and during that time we developed a very positive working relationship to secure appropriate, quality provision for vulnerable students. Alex was always extremely professional and listened carefully to the needs of the local authority to ensure that the requests for tutors were matched with the students’ profiles.

Alex worked sensitively with some very challenging cases and maintained regular contact with myself throughout the periods of tuition. Quite often, changes needed to be made at short notice when a school was found for a young person and this was always competently managed by Alex. Safeguarding and confidentiality were of paramount importance to the caseload and Alex was a strong advocate for all of the young people who received home tuition. He was committed to getting it right for the young people and giving them the best quality tutors he could source.

Empathetic and Detail-Oriented Support for Families

I would like to recommend Alex as an excellent education consultant, he always went above and beyond to provide a great service. He has excellent attention to detail and shows great empathy and understanding to the families that we worked with together. As a Local Authority, time and resources are often stretched to capacity and Alex provided a thorough service which did free up my time.

Careful Matching of Tutors to Young People’s Needs

In the short time that we have been working with Alex Hesse, it is apparent that relationships with us as the commissioning authority as well as with families and the young people with which the tutors work with, are a priority. Alex works closely with the LA to ensure that he understands the presentation of need of the young person and their requirements so that he can closely match the tutor assigned to them, families have provided positive feedback on this.

Weekly notes are provided by the tutors, which reports on daily activities and engagement of the young person. Alex has been able to find tutors at short notice with the relevant skill set to meet the needs of the young people, which has included those who can speak a relevant different language. There has been good communication from Alex, and he is very responsive.
